BANQ
Birds Australia North
Queensland (BANQ) is a regional group of the national organisation
Birds Australia.
The BANQ region covers a
large area of north Queensland - from Ayr north to the Torres Strait
Islands and west to the Northern Territory border. Regional contacts
are based in Townsville, Mount Isa, Cairns, Atherton Tablelands,
Mossman/Daintree and Cape York.

COMING

Australia
Day Weekend, 23 - 26 January, at Kingfisher Park Julatten.
This
is the 10th year running for this now traditional BANQ get-together on
the Australia Day Weekend at Kingfisher Park. There will be the usual
field trips and the communal bring-a-plate dinner on the Saturday, when
Cliff Frith will speak on 'Mad. Birds - Portrait of Madagascan Birds'.
A 10th anniversary dinner is planned for the Friday night at the nearby
Highlander Restaurant ($25 for 3 courses) if there is enough interest:

Friday 10 April to Monday 13 April: Easter Campout at Mount Surprise.

Saturday 2 May to Monday 4 May: AGM Weekend at Paluma.
Saturday 23 May to Sunday 24 May: Joint Campout with TRBOC at Pajingo Station, 75km south of Charters Towers.
June 2009
Saturday 20 June: Southern Tablelands Field Day.
